Short answer: on StockX’s Verified Marketplace, US sellers pay a 3% payment processing fee plus a transaction fee set by Seller Level: 9% at Level 1, falling to 7% at Level 5. There is a $5.00 minimum seller fee in the US. The invite-only Listings Marketplace and StockX Live charge no standard seller fees.
StockX works like a stock exchange for sneakers, streetwear and collectibles. Its main Verified Marketplace is where most sellers start, and it is the one with the fees below.
StockX’s seller fees
From StockX’s seller fees article, checked 13 September 2026:
| Seller Level | Quarterly sales needed (count or value) | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | None | 9% |
| Level 2 | 12 sales or $1,500 | 8.5% |
| Level 3 | 40 sales or $5,000 | 8% |
| Level 4 | 200 sales or $25,000 | 7.5% |
| Level 5 | 800 sales or $100,000 | 7% |
On top of the transaction fee:
- Payment processing: 3%.
- Minimum seller fee (US): $5.00.
- The transaction fee is calculated on the final sale price.
Levels are counted per calendar quarter across the Verified and Listings marketplaces.
Worked examples
| $60 item, Level 1 | $200 pair, Level 1 | $200 pair, Level 5 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sale price | $60.00 | $200.00 | $200.00 |
| Transaction fee | −$5.40 (9%) | −$18.00 (9%) | −$14.00 (7%) |
| Processing fee (3%) | −$1.80 | −$6.00 | −$6.00 |
| Payout before cost of goods | $52.80 | $176.00 | $180.00 |
A $60 item stays above the $5.00 minimum. At lower prices the minimum takes a growing share, so a $25 item is rarely worth selling on StockX.
Listings Marketplace and StockX Live
StockX says that at launch it charges no standard selling, processing or shipping fees on the Listings Marketplace, and no standard selling or processing fees on StockX Live. Buyers cover those costs instead. Penalties or return-related fees can still apply, and both are open only to select sellers through waitlists.
What suits StockX
Practitioner guidance, not StockX data:
- Deadstock or near-new sneakers and streetwear with an exact product match. StockX sells by product and size, so one-off vintage does not fit.
- Items well above the $5 minimum, where a percentage fee is the real cost.
- Stock you can ship quickly. An exchange-style market rewards reliable sellers.
Worn thrifted sneakers usually belong on eBay or GOAT instead. Compare Selling on GOAT and Selling on eBay.
